Brokendoll

Designing a brand for people who create brands.

Designing for another creative studio is always a unique challenge. The audience is knowledgeable, opinionated and pays attention to every detail.

Brokendoll is a collective of internationally recognised artists, directors, animators, photographers and designers working with some of the world's leading game studios, advertising agencies and production companies. We were invited to create a new identity that reflected the quality and diversity of their work without competing with it.

Designing for other designers is always a little intimidating. They notice everything. Fortunately, that's exactly what made this project so rewarding.

The Challenge

Creative portfolios should showcase the work—not the branding.

The challenge was to build a visual identity that felt distinctive while remaining quiet enough to let every project, illustration and film take centre stage.

The brand needed to work equally well across digital platforms, presentations and portfolio pieces while giving the collective a stronger, more recognisable presence.

The Solution

We developed a new visual identity, logo and digital portfolio built around simplicity, flexibility and confidence.

Rather than relying on expressive graphics, the identity creates a clear framework that allows Brokendoll's diverse body of work to remain the hero. Typography, layout and restrained visual elements provide consistency while adapting effortlessly to everything from motion graphics and game art to photography and illustration.

The result is a brand that supports creativity instead of competing with it.
